IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION AND EMPLOYMENT



A total of more than 230 participants from lecturers, teachers, students, and academics attending the National Seminar at the Faculty of Economics (FE) UNY, Saturday (23/4) yesterday. A seminar themed "Strengthening the relationship between Skills Development, Education, Youth and Employment Generation: School, Prospect Lifetime, and the Role Transition from school to the workplace" are one academic event enliven Anniversary UNY 52nd. The seminar presents the Chairman of the Planning and Development of the Ministry of Manpower (Barenbang Kemenaker RI) Dr. Ir. Sugiarto Sumas, MT, Sub Directorate of Vocational Curriculum Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr. Ir M Bakrun Dahlan, Prof. Ruhul Salim, Ph.D., of Curtin University, and Purnastuti Losina, Ph.D. from the State University of Yogyakarta.
The seminar was opened by Vice Rector II UNY Dr. Edi Purwanto, M.Pd dissemination of research results is a collaboration between FE UNY with Curtin University under the umbrella of the Australian Development Research Awards Scheme (ADRAS) Project. In addition to panel sessions moderated by the Vice Dean Prof. FE UNY Soekarno, Ph.D., these seminars also provide the opportunity to more than 20 speakers in parallel sessions and there are also sessions Focus Group Discussion .

Bakr M. Dahlan explained, in accordance with the needs analysis, vocational graduates should be able to meet the needs of stakeholders . "They are expected to have five elements of competence, in accordance with the needs of stakeholders, namely the needs of the community ( societal needs ), the needs of the world of work ( industrial needs), professional needs ( professional needs ), needs of future generations ( vision ), and the need for science (scientific ), "he explained.
While Sugiarto reiterated Sumas, MEA era which began January 1, 2016, led to the integration of ASEAN into a single market and production base regional. "To seize the goods and services markets of ASEAN, Indonesia industry must develop and adapt the demands of the ASEAN economic community. To that end, the necessary manpower in accordance with the demands of the industry, "the message.
Sumas adds this competence is not limited to it, but also have to adjust to the Mutual Recognition Arrangement(MRA) and the Schedule of Commitment agreed by the leaders of ASEAN countries. "Two things here that will greatly affect the mobility and competence of skilled labor market in MEA era," he added.
Ruhul Salim and Losing Purnastuti researchers from ADAS Project outlining the importance of research that has been and is still running in analyzing how the education process in Indonesia to help the younger generation the course of the transition from school to the workplace. With a target of taking samples of 3,000 youths aged 15-29, the study sought to uncover the relationship between education / training in the younger generation and their integration in the labor market.
